The much-renovated Moorish Castillo de Gibralfaro (Castle of Gibralfaro) stands high above Málaga and above the Alcazaba, to which it is connected by a parapet wall. There are exhilarating views from the ramparts and from the terraced approach path, that leads you up from the Alcazaba amidst a deluge of bougainvillea and flower beds - provided you can stand the heat.
