This richly ornate Spanish Renaissance cathedral, with its spectacular altar, is one if the country's architectual highlights, acclaimed for its beautiful facade and gold-and-white decor. It was begun in 1521 and completed in 1714. Behind the cathedral is the flamboyany Gothic Royal Chapel, where the remains of Queen Isabella and her husband, Ferdinand, lie.
